The inauguration day of Jesi Interport on 21st September 2002, sets the wheels in motion for the start of works for the construction of the first functional lot. Following the signature of the agreement with the Ministry of Transport for the funding of the works, Interporto Marche spa directly purchased part of the land and obtained possession of those areas subject to expropriation. The blueprints, financial and business plans were then finalised.
Having cleared the land of all war residues and completed the call for tenders, the building contract was awarded to the 'De Lieto' company from Naples, whose commitment is to complete the works by the end of 2005 for the start-up of the intermodal activities in support of the economic and territorial development of the Marches and Umbria regions. In the meantime ANAS the leading road-building contractor, is engaged in the building of a dedicated road access/exit from the route S.S.76 –Ancona-Rome- to serve the Interporto Marche. Among the road improvements there is also an emergency lane, allowing vehicles to safely reach Jesi freight village facilities directly and speeding up the goods operations and reducing the traffic congestion on the S.S.76 road.

- intermodal services: combined transport based on the use of block trains (with semi-trailers, mobile cargo holders and containers)

- management of specialist warehouses (refrigeration chain, dangerous goods, etc.)
- regional and nationwide road distribution
- value-added handling/manufacturing process of goods
and
- Ict networks facilities
- security and surveillance systems
- indoor services (canteen, bank, post office, hotel, etc.)
- other services (refuelling station , maintenance areas, spare parts shop etc.)
