JESI – The ceremony of the container terminal opening and the first cargo train leaving the Interporto Marche premises are a milestone event for our local economy.
A toast was made to greet the first cargo train leaving the Vallesina freight village. Today the intermodal transport is a real fact to serve the Vallesina economy as well as the regional economy
The opening ceremony took place on the side of the seminar titled: “Freight Villages, economic growth and development” organized by Interporto Marche Spa and UIR Association with the participation of its President Mr.Alessandro Ricci. The guest speakers of the seminar were: Mr.Francesco Estrafallaces, Head of CENSIS Economic Analysis Dept., Mr.Gilberto Galloni, CEO of FS Logistica Spa, Mr.Lidio Rocchi, Regione Marche Councillor to the Infrastructures and Transport and Mr.Giuseppe Mascio, Regione Umbria Councillor to the Infrastructures.The Interporto Marche company aim is today fulfilled: the accomplishment of the infrastructure construction works, despite the many difficulties and obstacles that the company had to overcome in a very sceptical environment that sometimes turned into hostile
Mr.Roberto Pesaresi, President of Interporto Marche Spa: “My thought goes to Mr.Vito D'Ambrosio, the former Regione Marche Governor, when proposed me the post of president. He told me that I should have managed this complex business and that should I have failed, the keys could have been thrown away
It is with pride that today we can say that we made it! Thank to all the people who have contributed to today’s success. A special thank goes to Ms.Manuela Marconi for having made these works possible. The work is not done yet but, its first phase has been concluded
The company had to overcome hard times: very harmful controversy and polemics undermined the credibility of the Interporto Marche company whose 59% of its ownership belongs to the Regione Marche and therefore, it belongs to the community and it is to our community that today I can say “here is your Freight Village”.Pleased was also Mr.Gian Mario Spacca, Governor of Regione Marche: “Interporto Marche plays a strategic economic role and we have to thank Mr.Pesaresi’s strong will for today’s achievement. Interporto Marche is part of a number of very strategic infrastructure networks - together with Ancona seaport and the airport - that link our region to the rest of our country and to Europe.
“Regione Umbria – declared Mr.Giuseppe Mascio, Regione Umbria Councillor to the Infrastructures - has strongly believed in the economic potentials of this infrastructure since its early days and many transport-related decisions were taken in view of the Interporto Marche full activities
