Strategic decisions are taken by the Interporto Marche’s Board of Directors meeting on 9th April 2010: the resolutions draw 3-5 year development plan of the infrastructure.

The Interporto Marche Spa Board of Directors resolutions authorising operative, management and structural intervention plans as follows:

Railway works (2nd Phase): the approval of a dedicated “Interporto freight station” building to enable cargo train leave our freight village in full autonomy without any manual authorization to enter the main railway line between Orte and Falconara. The cargo station will boost trade between the Marche logistic platform and the Umbria region (the total cost of works amounts to euro 11.489.000, RFI’s approval of the executive plan is dated 29th Jan.2010 and the building completion is expected by the end of 2011);

In-house service station with fuelling pumps and lorry wash service: the building is approved;

The selling of an industrial area for 5,000sq.mt-warehouse building and relevant parking lots: is following the signature of a similar selling contract of an area for 2.500sq.mt warehouse building and relevant parking spaces.

Investment Management Company calls for selection: the official approval of request for proposal documents, following Shareholders’ deliberation dated 17thMarch 2008 and Board of Directors’ resolution dated 20th Oct.2009. The selection is to an Investment Management Company specializing in the creation, growth and management of a dedicated equity investment with a double aim: to increase the value of Interporto Marche Spa real estate property and to finance warehouse buildings up to a total covered area of 100,000sq.mt in a short-term. The tender publication is to follow the V.I.A. authorization papers issued by the competent Ministries.

The above mentioned investments are financed by Interporto Marche savings resulting from old budgeted Ministry of Infrastructures financial allocations, from Ministry of Infrastructures financial resources under art.1 paragraph 1044 of the Italian Law n.296 of the year 2006, aimed at solving the country severe logistic problems, also called the decree against “bottle-neck” traffic congestion and Regione Marche POR financial resources.

Domestic and International relations.

The Board of Directors cheers the news of the forthcoming signature of the VIA – an Italian Government environmentally-friendly approval/authorization papers relating to the sistema interportuale di Jesi building plan. The above mentioned decree is about to be signed by the Ministry of Environment and the Ministry of Culture Heritage. The issue of VIA authorization is an essential condition for the creation of the dedicated equity investment.

Special appreciation is shown for the development of the business relations with the Russian Federation Honorary Consulate Office in the aftermath of the Russian Federation Ambassador visit to Interporto Marche with the common aim to promote import and export trade from the Russian Federation states
Particular attention is paid to the ongoing activities carried out by freight village partners: in recent days a new east-bound commercial route is officially open by the first train cargo - named Marco Polo Express – leaving from Portogruaro (Venice) freight village station to reach the logistic platform of Brest, in the Republic of Belarus, in a 3-day shipment. It is expected to later reach Vladivostock in a 20-day shipment
Interporto Marche Spa’s full membership to the Italian Russian Chamber of Commerce in Milan is to enhance its international business ties. Besides, the agreement signed between Interporto Marche Spa and the Italian Customs Agency is to have a dedicated in-house customs bureau charged with the responsibility of overseeing and enforcing governmental laws relating to imported and exported goods and services on transit by rail freight or lorry cargo.

The B.o.D. approved the company decision to become member of Committe Osservatorio sul “Porto di Ancona”, made up of Ancona Chamber of Commerce, Regione Marche and Provincia di Ancona Administrations and Ancona Sea-port Authority, in collaboration with Ancona ISTAO school of business and economics on the condition that the above committee is renamed Osservatorio “Piattaforma logistica territoriale delle Marche” and that it will coordinate all operations affecting Ancona sea-port, Ancona airport and Jesi dry bulk port.

The leading position played by Interporto Marche company in the domestic freight village association (UIR association) is confirmed by the new appointment given to Mr.Roberto Pesaresi, already UIR Vice-President
Mr.Roberto Pesaresi is the coordinator of a nationwide project to be carried out in collaboration with the research company CENSIS on “the Italian freight village network and the local logistic platforms” with the aim to implement a policy to support the development of their relationship
The results of the project are published in the next six months and will have an impact on the logistic platforms of north-east, north west and central Italy
A previous research study, still under Mr.Pesaresi’s leadership, is a proposal document on the domestic freight villages legislation review currently viewed by the Italian Government and Parliament commissions.

Mr. President finally informed the B.o.D. on the positive outcome of the China Machi Holding Group business visit: a real interest is shown by the Chinese management, should their acquisition proposals of important Italian manufacturing companies be signed. In view of a possible manufacturing output in Central Italy (should their acquisition proposal of Antonio Merloni company in Fabriano and other manufacturing companies in Lazio region have the go-ahead), the China Machi Holding Group will have to manage the logistic operations in Central Italy to and from the People’s Republic of China
Should this be the case, a great opportunity of development for the Marche logistic platform operators is given: Jesi drybulk port, Ancona Sea port and Ancona cargo airport will considerably increase their trade volumes
